extension to rear of property
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.19 PM
Hello, I wanted to get a rear extension to extend my kitchen (orangery type), to the rear of my property but I have a brick shed which has been converted to a utility room however, not attached to my house, there is about 1.5 metres in between this and back door to house. Would I need to demolish this or could an lean to type extension be joined on to this?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi ,
In this situation it would be best to demolish the Utitie and reincorporated it into your new extension ensuring no potential problems in the future with issues like rising damp etc
Thanks

Every job has specific list of thing you would have to follow but by the sounds of it would have to be demolish it tomake way for the new build. Having it done properly to start with would ensure less risk later on ie rising damp, subsidence.
