can oak shaker cabinet doors be altered?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.42 PM
I have some oak shaker cabinet doors that I'd like to use on my kitchen. Some aren't the sizes I need... can they be taken apart/ cut down to the sizes I want? Would anyone even take on a job like that? Edit: these doors are solid wood and way out of my price range brand new!
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi the shaker doors normally are not solid wood and once taken apart would be really difficult to reassemble . Most kitchen suppliers do sell shaker style doors and it shouldn’t be to difficult to match up . Hope this helps

Hi, I have adjusted quite a few shaker doors to make them fit an awkward space, with careful disassembly they can be cut to size and put back together without a trace that they'd been changed. Please drop me a line if you wish me to have a look.
Thankyou
