Removal of Vinyl Tiles
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.18 PM
I want to have new tiles or lino fitted in my kitchen but wish to have the old vinyl tiles removed first and not just cover over them. Would the fitter do this and would there be a substantial extra charge for doing this?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes they should be taken up first and is not a hard job nor should it take to long, There will always be charges for work carried out whether it's at a day rate, say as labour or as a complete job charge, I would definely advise you get a written quote not an estimate and stay away from day work charges as some may drag the job out,....Will

Yes they should be removed, and can sometimes be as easy as scraping them up with a chisel or strong scraper. Which would take a hour or two. Most tilers will do the prep work and add it in the job price. Hope this helps and you get the job sorted.

Yes these vinyl tiles should be removed first. This should not be a very time consuming job. There would be a charge for the removal but this would be on the tilers quotation.
Kind regards Matt
