RSJ fitting into End of Terrace

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.18 PM

Hi, I have recently bought a 1930s end of terrace in Berkhamsted. I had a proper survey done, and it flagged up a supporting ground floor wall removal that hasn’t been supported properly. (Done in the 1960s) My question is, as it’s an end of terrace, would I have issues with building regs etc? One of the walls that would have to be worked on for an RSJ is the wall that joins us to the next door neighbour... Could someone please give me a few pointers as to what I’d have to do in terms of permission etc... Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give. Chris

Hi You will definitely need building regs for this and also structural engineers report as well ,if you contact your local building control office I’m sure they would help you.
