How do I fit a ceiling curtain pole for pencil pleat curtains? Is there anything I should know?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.58 PM

I have two sun-facing windows with no space above the window for a curtain rail or pole. In order to fit the curtains (which are thermal and blackout, so not the lightest), there seems to be no option other than to fit a curtain pole to the ceiling. However, I'm not sure how to go about this. Are there special brackets? How do I mark the curtain length? Should I worry about the curtain pulling the bracket out of the ceiling? Are there joists I should look to drill into? Thanks for any help, really appreciate any help!

Hi You could use the same circular supports you would use for a wardrobe rail in either metal or wood and fix them high up left and right on the window returns. I would avoid doing it through the ceiling. regards Steve
