Can't get the new glass window clean
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.58 PM
I had a new French door fitted with a cut out for a catflap, and it all went in fine no problems, but I'm having a problem cleaning the glass? It doesn't clean as easily as all my other glass windows and stained with general water marks etc. All the other glass in the house and the other French door cleans fine, why is this? Thank you

To me it sounds like the glass is the wrong way round in the unit the coating on the glass needs to be inside the unit common fault with manafactors if yocleen it with upvc solvent you will eventually remove coating

When the fitter fitted the door,he may have got silicone on the glass which is used when sealing around, try cleaning with wipes that get silicone off glass which you can get from most diy shops and then clean with glass cleaner to finish

Hi there, it's not usually glass in catflaps, but it's plastic, so it can get scratched or very dirty quickly, wd40 is great at cleaning greasy marks of plastic catflaps
