Plastering & Rendering

Wants to learn and start as labourer

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.18 PM

Hello I’ve decided that I would like to train hands on as a plasterer and would like to find a company or self employed person in or around my area to help me along the way. Obviously I would have to start from the bottom as I have no experience yet and I know it is a very demanding job. I’m very physically fit as I go gym at least 6 times a week and my last job was very demanding, Also there was a lot of customer service involved so I’m good around people. As an additional experience I’m willing to do a city and guilds course in my spare time to gain the relivent basic knowledge so I won’t be completely clueless. Anyone looking for a reliable strong labourer to train up I’m willing to talk to. Reason I’m wanting to train is it’s something I’ve always been interested in but I was in a secure job for the last 14 years as a drayman so never made the jump.. I’m 37 so life experienced and a fast learner and know how to listen to and execute instructions. I’m Northampton based but willing to travel for the right person/company I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help in my quest of fulfilling my dream of becoming a competent plasterer. Regards christopher

Hi Chris, you may better enrolling at a local college who offer plastering courses for adult learners. You can work towards a plastering diploma at most construction colleges. An NVQ can only be given to those who produce site based evidence, hence having a job. Once you have some basic skills to offer you could work for a competitive salary which makes you appealing to a plasterer. This way you receive hands on instruction and they get help at a cheaper rate. It’s good to hear your passion coming through your post, I wish you all the best for the future.
