External noise traveling through my flat via the attic

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.18 PM

Hi I have external noise anything from heavy rainfall, traffic noise and passing aircraft echoing through my first floor flat from the attic space above what can be done about it the easiest and most inexpensive way.? As I've had bad experiences with other types of building work done where I was over charged and the work was botched causing me financial losses I couldn't afford and the other work still needs redoing to make matters worse. So I'm sure you can understand my fear of being put through this yet again if I employ individuals to rectify this issue. This is a separate problem from the other botched jobs they are not to do with this issue. Thanks for any help in advance

Any level of insulation in the loft will help, the exact type and method should be advised by the installer following a visual survey. Make sure you get at least three quotes and ask what type of insulation will be used, ask why, tak notes and compare their answers. Look at the manufacturer data for whatever is suggested. Check reviews and feedback from past clients to make sure you are comfortable with the decision. Get a fixed price and make sure it is stuck to!
