Work experience 1 day per week for plumbing course

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.18 PM

I am about to start a plumbing course and am trying to find work experience 1 day per week around se27 and surrounding areas including Bromley. I’m 16 but have done a little work experience with a carpenter over the holidays doing general labour and can get a reference if required. I am looking to start this in September but am unsure which day I will be available until the 5th September. I am very keen to learn and have no problems being punctual. If there are any plumbers or plumbing companies that might be able to help I would appreciate it.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A word of caution, I take on trainee gas installers from college placements as part of there practical work experience requirement's that they must under take, now I have insisted that they have there own Public Liability insurance if ever a situation arises where damage is caused to the customers property due to carelessness on the trainees part i.e. water damage! Just thought I would mention this as other mentors are adopting the same precautions. The best of luck in your new career.

First and foremost get a cscs card if you under 16 ! A college or institution will provide one and if you whatever age a cscs card is free through job centres or construction Led practitioners. You have to be seen to learn the trade to be taken seriously and to be fare if you don’t and post looking for such work without merit you won’t find yourself in a plumbing role Tomorrow. Best bet seek out job Opportunity’s to work within the sector for free gain experience and don’t rush to think you or the best. In the first 10 years (a career amount) you’d be lucky to come close. Helping others as plumbing does should be a learned skill when done right is a privilege. Stop mucking about and do the hard graft be a labourer for a day put yourself in another trades shoes. Learn everything you can about serious work because that is the expectancy on your from day 1 don’t muck about respect trade

When I used to be a plumber trainee I used to stay outside the plumbers merchants shop and ask literally to everybody for work even for little money. You will receive a lot of negative answers but soon or later you will be fine. Good luck !
