45amp cooker switch

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

Looking at replacing the sockets in my kitchen for brushed nickel ones. I have checked the stand alone breaker for the cooker an it's rated at 32a if I've read it correctly (CUMB32) is it ok to fit a 45a replacement socket? Can't find 32a ones anywhere

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes this is fine. The cooker switch is rated up to 45Amps meaning it can handle loads up to this amount. As your breaker is rated at 32Amps it'll never exceed this limit.

Yes that would be fine. The 32A fuse/MCB in the consumer unit will allow 32amps of current to flow into the circuit. As long as the cooker switch is rated for 32A or high then it will be fine. Thanks, Paul Seymour Electrical

That's fine, you can install the switch as long as the c.b is 32a mcb

YES , IT'S NORMAL TO FIT A 45A ISOLATOR TO A COOKER CIRCUIT ,EVEN THOUGH IT HAS A 32A MCB AND PROBABLY 6MM CABLE .

yes , that's ok 45 AMP cooker switch is a standard for all appliances up to 45 AMP , this is mean so 45 amp is a maximum currency which can be operated by this switch for cable protection more important is overcurrent device / MCB ,RCBO/ which have to be compared to the csa of used cables/conductors/

That should be fine as long as the breaker at the fuse board is 32amps.
