Reinstating a fireplace in a glasgow tenement

Hi folks I want to reinstate a fireplace into my livingroom of my tenement. I live on the top floor and can see where the plaster is different on the chimney breast where the opening for the fire will be. I can also see the outline of the lintel which looks intact. If someone could advise me how to even start this process? Do I need to get a surveyor in before starting any physical work? All advice appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
Best speak to structural engineer in the first instance then a Chimney sweep there after.
