Rendering to exterior of older Mobile Home
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.39 PM
I have inherited an old mobile home (on a residential Park). The exterior has started to flake and peel away badly. I am not able to do the job myself, but need to know if this is a job for a plasterer or another type of craftsman. Also, can the exterior to of paint (looks like pebble-dash) still be readily found. One builder has told me that it may be obsolete. See photos here: http://gallery.adareimages.com/mobile/

It’s is a textured paint I think it’s called Biomastic paint that leaves it looking like rough cast finish , you would need to replace any bad pieces of ply with new wpc plybsame thickness fill joints with an exterior flexable filler ( preferably Polyfilla brand as it is top quality )peel away as much of the existing coating as possible undercoat twice white/ grey depending on finish and then paint it on with a roller as directed by product manufacturer . There is no need for a plasterer just a carpenter / Joiner if required and a painter or Handy man to carry out the 3 step finish of
2 x undercoat ( filler applied between coat 1 and 2 then sanded if nessacary but usually not required) and final coat of Biomastic leaving the stipple / rough cast finish look
Hope this helps
