Sounds like the roofer to me.When joining to a neighbouring property you can easily cause damage to the neighbours slates/tiles. If it was me I'd fix the problem and buy the neighbours a bottle of wine. Mutch better to keep peace you your neighbours I.M.H.O Regards Mike.

If it was me and it was just a broken slate/tile I would just change it as it would take long or cost much at all an it’s always good to keep your neighbours happy and a good reputation. Thanks nick

Sorry to hear this, I would look for evidence of the damage before, if it is noticeable you can use google maps to see the damage before your work was on the way as its on the roof, i feel sorry for your roofer after working hard and now someone wants a free ride, if this is the case. hope this helps !Good luck!

Sometimes speaking as a roofer it’s difficult to say, the break of the tile would look a clean break if recently done and sometimes if not most cases like this you could always take a picture of clear beforehand damage to make sure nothing like this happens. The unfortunate thing of needing proof in this case stands, therefore if it was me I would stand my ground to say it wasn’t myself or anyone on site and that we have not had any need to go on the neighbouring side. Thank you James

If the roofer has come back out and it’s not near we’re he was working I would back him 100% like you did but if it was just a broken tile I would just ask him to fix it to stop all the hassle

If the roofer was not working in that area then the neighbour is trying to get a free repair I would call back round and explain politely that I was not working any where near the damaged to his roof if the damage is just a small repair I would offer to fix the problem as a gesture of good will
