New Build gas pipes from Boiler

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.18 PM

Would it be possible to know if on a new build property you have your boiler and tank in the loft, do you have to have your gas pipes on the outside of the building, or should or could they be inside the walls of the building?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Either way is possible, easiest and cheapest way is external but then looks untidy on a new build. I personally prefer to run gas pipes internal. If you speak to your plumber who's doing the install and ask for a quote on both.

As the tradesman has stated above, either way is possible. You tend to find some Engineers run Gas pipework externally as it is quicker and a lot more easier to terminate at the boiler. It does look unsightly on a new build in my opinion. Running the pipework internally is cleaner and out of sight, however, it will be labour and cost intensive should you further down the line decide to move your boiler from the loft to let’s say, kitchen or garage.. have a word with your installer, express your concerns and see what can be done within your timeframe and budget.
