Painting over damp plasterboard
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.41 PM
Recently had a garage conversion. A bit concerned because the project hasn't gone to plan and the painter came early. Three walls and ceiling had been plastered and left to dry- 3-4 days. They seemed fine and he painted over them. The final wall was done last because a radiator had to go on it. Even though the plaster was only a day old he painted over it. 2 days later the damp wall doesn't look great with patches all over it. I was told that it was a professional job and the paint emulsion used is specially formulated to let moisture content dry out for weeks after. All plaster may still be wet beyond the surface. Painter is coming again tomorrow to carry on. Am I worrying unnecessarily and all will be fine or do I have cause for concern????
