Kitchen Fitting

Fitting an kitchen extractor above a hob but under a steel beam

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.39 PM

We are planning a new kitchen with a hob on an island, but the gas hob will be just slightly offset under the steel beam that has been put in place after open planning the space. Is there an offset style (similar to the wall mounted extractors, with chimeny part at back with the main plate sticking out) that can be mounted the other side of the beam but go over the hob? Seems I can't just use a pendent style extractor and pass building regs as it wont be extracting and only re-circulating. Any advise greatfully received.

Hi could you not design a lowered ceiling cloud above the island to accommodate the ducting for the Extractor, obviously ceiling hight will depend on whether this would work.
