Replacing an induction hob with a gas hob

Hello, we have moved into a new house which in the kitchen has an induction hob, that we hate and want to replace with a gas hob. Questions I have and I don't know who would be the right trade for it. 1. I don't know where the gas is in the house - both hob and oven are electric - how/who could tell me (and what is needed to get the gas pipe into the kitchen area) - is this the job of a gas safe engineer? 2. Fitting the new gas hob - is that a kitchen fitter? We would want a 5 ring burner going into the space of 4 ring, so would that be a kitchen fitter who does that? Thanks in advance Richard

Hi Richard 1. Yes you would need a gas safe engineer to come and work out/calculate the best route to supply a feed to the new gas hob. 2. A kitchen fitter/joiner could be used or an multi-skilled gas safe engineer would also be able to fit the new hob. Regards CJ

Hi Richard, I would recommend you seek the initial advice of a Gas Safe engineer. They will be able to inspect and carry out any gas work that is required. This includes, installing new pipework, connecting the new gas hob and certifying the work. You would then also need an Electrician to remove the existing hob and make the electrical connections safe. Many thanks, Dan
