What is causing mould on stored items in my loft

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.57 PM

Hi, We live in a 10 year old house and have found that stored items in the loft often end up with mould on them. What would be causing this & what can we do about it? I want to store my daughter's baby stuff which is no longer needed, but don't want them to get damaged up there. Thanks Deb

without looking its impossible to be sure of exactly what is happening there can be many reasons for dampness, i.e insufficient or to much insulation , lack of ventilation, holes or cracks in the under felt, broken or cracked tiles, portly fitted flashings or seals, without looking its impossible to say for sure what is causing this.
