Before bonding anything make sure that your incoming gas pipe is metal if is plastic (usually yellow) you don't have to do it, the same thing with the incoming water pipe.
This is a change on the IET wiring regulations 18th Edition, it will be mandatory from 01/01/2019 but all the electrical bodies have been recommending this for a while.
" Metallic pipes entering a building with an insulating section at their point of entry no longer need to be connected to the protective equipotential bonding "
The Incoming metal pipe buried, needs and it will need Bonding.
The incoming plastic pipe doesn't need bonding.
I hope this helps you :)

Copper pipework is bonded to earth in properties to create an easy path to earth in the event that pipework becomes live , this should then operate your safety devices ie MCB's, RCD's ect and prevent any persons or animals recieving a nasty shock.
It is now part of the electrical regs that this is in place.

Earth bond a 10mm earth cable from fuseboard to within 600mm of gas unit.
Earth bond a 10mm earth cable from fuseboard to within 600mm of stop tap on incoming side.
If it’s plastic, people say it’s not really needed, but personally, I would always like my internal pipe work to be bonded, and cross bonded in all circumstances.
