I personally would use a watered down emulsion, same as if you was to paint new plaster. Dont use PVA. PPS

You will have acted positively in applying a thin coat of pva prior to painting, the pva will satisfy any porosity of the easy fill and provide you with a sound base on which to gain a good paint finish, this practice is not always necessary as a simple thinned down coat of matt emulsion would have sufficed.

A simple watered down coat of emulsion ( max 20% water added) this will act as a primer for the surface. Most emulsions can be thinned happily by Max of 10% at any time to help with coverage or if the surface is uneven ( this will aid in filling voids). By thinning 20% this is just for a primer coat over new plaster/easy fill and can be done on gyproc/plasterboard but allow drying time prior to next coats. Gareth.

Wrong advice given to use pva! Treat easifill the same as new plaster. Mist coat with paint for new plaster or contract matt first
