Fiberglass flat roof we walk on.

Hi, we have a flat roof made of fibreglass resin we have to walk over to reach the garden. It has tiles but many are cracked & loose. I'm thinking to remove them & put a thin layer of chippings instead. My question is do I need to put some sort of membrane underneath the chippings to prevent damage to the fibreglass, such as rubber matting? Our garden is accessed from the first floor, hence the need to walk over it!

the best option would be to apply a second coat of the grey and add fibre glassed approved slate Chipping’s into the mix. This will protect the roof and stop it becoming slippery. I would not recommend laying any other matting or material as if any water gets under neath you are only trapping it and not allowing the fibre glass to breathe
