Bathroom Fitting

Do you think I should pay the remaining money

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.40 PM

Bathroom fitter has left me with a unlevel bath, leaking bath screen, extractor fan vented into loft, a electrical switch inside my bathroom and will not give me a electrical certificate and is taking me to court because I owe him £995. Should I pay or go to court

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Well, if it were me I would have a quick visit to either citizens advice bureau or question trading standards. Sounds like pretty shoddy work, having an electrical switch inside a bathroom is not necessarily a no no, as long as the distance from excluded zones was far enough. Also if it wasnt a new circuit, he doesnt really have to provide an electrical certificate(could be notified on minor works). But certainly withold payment until you get sound legal advice.
