Taps replaced by mixer taps with loss of pressure resulting. Any help.

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.40 PM

A couple of days ago we changed our bathrooms taps with a set of mixer taps with a shower head attachment. Shortly after the installation I noticed that the water pressure throughout the house had dropped substantially and is making the shower fairly useless. Both hot and cold water is affected but would say the hot water is affected more. We have a combi boiler installed that has never caused a problem before. Is there air in the pipes that needs to be drained? Or is there another possible reason for this drop in water pressure? Thanx in advance. E&R Kitchens. Thank you for your answer. How would I go about balancing our system?

You can get this problem from having a header tank, but it could be you system needs balancing. Hi, any qualified plunder can do this, it’s inexpensive.

If the plumber close the main stop cock to replace the taps, he may have disturb the stopcock which may start to drip if fully open. Easy solution keep the main stopcock almost close and run away. Proper solution replace the main stopcock, and leave it fully open. Tiziano
