Porcelain patio Grouting

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.57 PM

Hi, laid a porcelain patio and filled joints with porcelain Pro joint grout, then the heavens opened and some of it is not as good as it should be, ie not level different colour etc, so some needs re doing, now this grout is quite difficult to get, ie only a few places on the net sell it, cheapest is £52. My question is am I OK just to sand down between all the joints and add a little more grout on top of the existing grout so its nice and level, and same colour, will it stick OK, and do I come all the way up to the top of the tiles.?? What would the best way to remove the porcelain grout, ie what would be the best tool, etc to use???

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need to remove the existing grout as you need the grout to be the full depth of the tile ! With the previous grout being contaminated there is no gaurantee the new grout will adhere to it! Your joints should be full to top of tile and then sponge off without pressing to hard on the sponge as not to drag the grout out of the joint wiping across the joints at 45 degree angles
