Is it possible to paint vinyl lino flooring?

The white vinyl lino floor in the bathroom has become stained. It has been put down new in the last 12 months. The stains will not come out. Is it possible to paint over the floor instead of putting down fresh flooring?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

There are products available that state it is possible to paint on vinyl. However, there is no guarantee that this will last. I would look into cleaning products or professional cleaners to see if the staining can be rectified. If not I suggest replacing the lino. Painting will only be a temporary 'fix' and will not last in a bathroom. Hope this helps.

Personally I wouldn’t paint a vinyl floor it be best to replace the floor with a new one
