Does a newly Skimmed and Painted wall need sealing before Papering?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.38 PM

We’ve just had our garage converted recently and the plasterboard has been skimmed and painted and was wondering if I still needed to seal the wall, I believe it was sealed before it was painted but i’m not entire sure. So was just wondering if we need to seal the wall over the paint before we wallpaper, or can we wallpaper it without? Thanks

I would size with pva. Diluted at a ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 pva/water. I always use pva that is british standard. Let that dry then paper. If you dont size walls esp dry-lined walls then you are making the job difficult. The paper will be difficult to move into position and ultimately adhesion will be compromised
