Lots of holes left in wall from walk in wardrobe - fill or replaster?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.57 PM
Hi folks, We have a room in our house that the previous owners had as a walk in wardrobe. The shelving was all removed and now we're left with lots of small (but relatively deep) holes where the shelving was affixed to the wall. I've started filling this with poly filler, but now i'm wondering whether we potentially need to get the room re plastered? Thoughts and advice welcome! Thanks!

Hi. No, no need to re-plaster, just switch to using better filler.
There are lots of deep fill/one fill ready mixed fillers that you can use. Check that they dont sag. Fill the bulk of the holes with that, to just below/flush to surface. Then when set fine fill/finish with toupret or easifill. Abrade lightly smooth and level.
Then paint, the filled areas will be visible after the first coat because they will absorb the paint differently but after subsequent coats all should blend in appearence
