Bathroom Fitting
Anonymous user 30 May 2018 - 8.05 AM
My 1950s bathroom has boxed in pipes that run above the floor. I want to install a 1000 width vanity unit but am concerned that the existing pipe work will hinder the fitting of the vanity. Are standard toilet + sink vanities able to be cut to fit around existing pipes, especially when the pipes will be coming in from the side?
Alternatively instead of cutting your new unit you could have the floor lifted and the pipes laid under the floor boards

You should be able to cut the unit to fit around the pipe just using a jigsaw to get a clean neat cut to the size of the pipe. Just check that what your cutting won't compromise the unit in anyway and make it unstable.
