Can i just replace visible parts of a bath pop up waste system?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.38 PM

I have a pop up bath waste with control knob overflow. It all works fine, but the control knob, and the chrome fitting of the drain (waste flange?), is all a bit tarnished and could do with being replaced. Unfortunately I dont have easy access to below the bath (the bath panel is sealed in, not a removable one). So I was wondering if its possible to just replace the visible fittings (waste, knob, pop up)? I've been researching online, and found various places do sell just these 'trim kits', and i've found various complete pop up waste kits that look similar, with the correct measurements. Would buying something like this with the same measurements make for an easy replacement? Or do i need to replace the entire pop up system?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It is possible to just replace these parts but could be tricky if the bottom of the waste drops down after taking the screw out of the flange, but this is unlikely. Hope this helped.
