Fencing

I what to know who should fix my side of the fence that has not been finished

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.37 PM

My neighbour had a fence built between our driveways. I can overlook the fact that I was not informed that work was starting or that the builders tresspassed on my land and used my driveway to demolish the previous wall whilst my car was still on the driveway. Or that my neighbour has pinched 1inch of my land. The thing that is annoying me is that they have tidied up the neighbours side but on mine there is still rubble from the wall and also under one of the fences is brick holding it up and it has not been filled in properly There are a few other issues but I can't believe they have left my driveway this way. I have already blasted my neighbour and took photos as proof. Is it my neighbours responsibility to repair or the builders?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there. This issue would be for your neighbour to contact the builder to come back, fix the problems and to finish the whole job to a good standard. When installing things like a fence as there are two side. A good standard finish would mean both sides finished to a good standard not just the paying customers side. If your neighbour doesn't want to contact the builder and you have the number. Try talkin to the builder directly nicely and explain your concerns.

Your neighbour hired them, not the other way round. They both seem a real set of charmers, so, I would approach your neighbour and ask him what is he going to do about it and take it from there.

It’s the builders but under payee instruction... a decent builder would leave the neighbours tidier than their customers (well I do) what builders fail to see is that your living with your neighbor long after they have gone! The worlds gone mad.. both parties should really be involved from the start
