Worcester Greenstar boiler ri blue flashing light issue

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

I have a Worcester Greenstar boiler ri which has a fast blue flashing light after around 15-20 seconds of it being switched on. The green light is solid and static. The water and gas are both on at the transmitter unit. Have tried a hard reset using the function on the boiler, and reset the boiler but no further. The pressure gauge is at around 1.5. Released valve on the pressure pump to take out air from pipes - no further. The fan is not spinning on the boiler when it is turned on. Are there are next steps in order to fix which can be suggested please?

Hi It will be one of 3 things. 1. Gas Supply The blue light on an RI will flash when it detects no gas supply, or low pressure. This could be a range of things such as a faulty gas valve. As this issue relates to gas, contact a heating engineer straight away. 2. Flue Blockages Another common cause of a blue light flashing is a blockage in the flue. Check the flue for blockages, but also for damage. A gas engineer will be able to replace a flue (where necessarily) cheaply. 3. Condensate Blocked This is typical in colder months. A condensate pipe can easily get frozen causing the blockage and the blue light to flash. However, sometimes a build-up of debris can be causing the blockage.
