How to prepare the plasterboard before decorating

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.37 PM

I have a carpenter to build a stud wall with plasterboards, however he doesn't do plastering. I have looked online that I should tape and mud the joints between the plasterboards, and then apply 2 coats of gyproc drywall sealer or primer (which should I use before applying the first coat of paint?) Is this right? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If its tapered Edge board you can dry line it with the appropriate dry lining filler and sand the joints and screw heads, but if its square edge board then i would advise that you get the wall skimmed
