BATTENING FOR FIXING PLASTER BOARD IN ROOF SPACE OF NEW BUILD BUNGALOW
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.37 PM
I am looking to plaster board the roof space of the new(self build) bungalow I`m completing in south Dorset. It has a 36 degree angled roof with attic trusses these are at 1200mm centres , the roof space is rectangular measuring 15m approx. x 7m approx. the height from floor level at the edge of the long rectangled side to the highest point of the roof space under the roof tiled is about 3.9 metres i.e. if you can picture a triangle the measurement from the bottom angle to the top point of the triangle. I have already insulated under the boarded roof (sarking) and am ready to plasterboard I would like to know the size of battening I should use that the plaster board will be screwed to and the spacing between the battening which will run the whole of the 15m lengths on both sides. I intend to use 12.5mm board but will have to cut this to a suitable size to get it up into the roof space. I will of course get the plastering done professionally. I appreciate all help / guidance. Thank you.
