We have just had a megaflow cylinder and worcester boiler installed to replace an old gravity fed system. When I run the bath tap and sink tap, there is a noticeable improvement in the water pressure of the hot water. However, our thermostatic shower isn't showing the same change. The shower doesn't get as hot as it did before and there is a dramatic fall in pressure when I change it from cold to hot. The shower is plumbed into the wall, behind tiles. The pipes for the taps are more direct and have been renewed. The pipes to the shower have not been replaced because of the logistical difficulties of doing so. We've had some problems with a poor boiler installation, so I would like to know if it seems reasonable for this performance from the shower. Is it likely to be because it is thermostatic? Or because it was a gravity-fed-type? I was really hoping the boiler change would improve the water pressure in the shower. Should I be considering changing the shower now to really see the difference?
