Changing cold storage of Fortic Direct Combination Cylinder
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.39 PM
I have a Fortic direct combination cylinder with 40 litre storage. In the loft directly above, (1.5 meters) there is an unused disconnected but serviceable 40 gallon cold storage tank. My question is would it be possible to plumb the gravity outlet feed from the loft tank directly to the Fortic inlet tube at the bottom of the storage bowl of the Fortic. Reason: I want a power shower.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you are considering fitting a power shower then connect the cold water draw-off supply directly to the pump from the cold water storage tank you mentioned, then obviously your source of hot water will be the combination cylinder. I recommend fitting a Essex flange to the cylinder to prevent air ingress when the power shower pump is in use.

no this is not possible to get this to work you would have to cut the cold tank off,you will have to buy a new cylinder.
