Nest fitted on WB Greenstar 30Si - Not working

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

I have a WB Greenstar 30Si boiler that has a wireless thermostat. I fitted a nest thermostat and it's a simple setup (I think!) whereby the Ls goes through the relay on the Nest and returns to Lr when it requests the heating to come on. However, this doesn't seem to be working. I get 240v at Lr but the heating doesnt come on. I tried setting the boiler to "on" on the front plate but still it doesn't behave properly. After a little more investigation it ONLY comes on when the nest and the original thermostat are demanding heat. I basically have to set the original thermostat to 32C so it's always trying to heat and then the Nest has control but this seems ridiculous. I must be missing something simple. Any ideas?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello there, If I did read correctly , you said that originel thermostat to 32 degree to get the nest working !! If its combi boiler you need to remove your old room thermostat and use that in to your nest wall unit and correct wiring from boiler PCB to heat link so that it can communicate correctly. If you left old one wired in and trying to use the nest than prior to satisfied nest demand your originel roomstate has to satisfied the heating demand !! I hope my answer is helpful. Good luck Vin @ OHM
