Upvc windows to concrete lintel with nothing in between!

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Normally would just put a nice even layer of expanding foam and plastic trim for aesthetics

No there is no need for insulation between the frame and the concrete. Foam is normally used as it expands and gives the widow an extra grip

Normally the frame should be fitted tight to the lintel and finished with a bead of mastic for watertightness. If there is a larger gap expanding foam is used with a uPVC add on strip fitted to the frame to hide the foam and give a neat appearance.
