Moving radiator

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.56 PM

Hello, I have modern radiators throughout my house. One radiator upstairs in sat in the middle of the room. Ideally I'd like to have it moved somewhere else in the room, probably to an adjacent wall. My question is, is moving a radiator a big job? What is involved in moving a radiator? Thanks

Hi, This type of work is not complicated and usually it can be done within couple of hours. There is many reasons that will have an impact on how big the job is. Floor finish, is it a carpet or solid (laminate or wood), directions of joist, is it a system boiler or combi. It will vary from house to house. To move radiator first your central heating needs to be emptied. Next would be opening floor and assessing existing pipework and planning for way of new pipes. After that installing radiator, new pipework and connecting all together. Flushing system, adding chemicals and bleeding radiators around a house. Sometimes your central heating may need balancing. After all that your system is ready for next heating season (assuming that all in good working order). Hope this help and give you better understanding on works you are asking about. Thanks for reading.
