Should broken cistern mechanics mean that I need a new Toilet?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.56 PM
I have been told that the cistern mechanics for our toilet need replacing. We have been told that because they don't know the make of the toilet that they need to replace the whole thing for a large amount of money. This seems extortionate to me and like we are being ripped off but I do not know. They have said that it becomes more difficult to replace the toilet as the back is boxed in (concealed cistern). Is it possible to replace the siphon, isolator etc without replacing the whole toilet?

yes it is possible to replace just the internal workings of the toilet cistern ,can you explain what you mean by boxed in ?,is it a concealed cistern if so you may need to remove boxing, was the amount you stated earlier a typing error,if not yes you are being overcharged.
