Hairline fracture in toilet pan base
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.16 PM
Is there any way of sealing the hair line fracture on the pan or do i need to replace the pan. Its not leaking and can be used.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could try CT-1 its a pretty strong glue/sealant that will fill the hair line. I would look towards a replacement toilet when you can, if it starts to leak it may lead to other issues.

Just to be safe I would replace the toilet.

You don’t say where the leak is. Plenty of loos have hairline cracks and last for years. Is the crack below the permanent water line, or is it at the top. If it’s at the top I’d watch it and see what happens.
If the crack is on the cistern I’d be a bit more careful.
