can we paint old tiles in a bathroom

The bathroom was tiled to use as a shower room, but we have changed it to fit a bath. The tiles are shabby and old and will be impossible for us to take up. Can they be painted with tile paint. Thanks

You can but you will also need to use a tile primer you may also want to mask the grout line with painter tape. I hope this helps
