Gaps and loose floorboards under carpet

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.17 PM

Just after Easter noticed floorboards are moving in certain areas and gaps. Looking it seems I need a joiner and a carpet fitter to even look into this. I don't have that money. Need advice on how to proceed and can someone be done myself?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi It sounds like the boards may have been lifted at some point and not screwed back down correctly, you would need to remove the carpet screw down loose boards and then ply over the top of the existing floor using a 6mm ply. Hope this has helped Darrell The Flooring Place
