SIPs Garden Build, what foundation on old garage slab?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

Hello, I'm about to get our old timber asbestos garage removed and I want to build a garden room in it's place, there's already a slab down but I don't know if it'll be good enough for a SIPs office? What would be the best thing to do just build a frame on top and drill it in place, ebefore building the SIPs? Any tips on the best foundation for a garden office going on an old garage slab? Thankyou

regarding your slab, if the slab is a minimum 100mm or 4 inch this would be the ideal minimum thickness, I would make a 2x2 treated frame on the base so there is air circulation and build from that, no fixing to the slab just the sips base would sit on that and build from there.. hope this helps..
