I just have removed chimney from down stairs and from my bedrooms

Builder has removed my chmimny from down stairs and from my bedrooms and have put 2 lanters in the loft supported with 2 brackest. He hasn't blocked the chimney from top of the roof. Does he need to block from top of the roof or is it okay to leave as it is. Advice please.

Hi there the pots need to be blocked , the water will come in to the ceiling in the bedroom when the chimney breast was there the water would dry up before it got to the ground floor and having a fire on kept the inside dry

If you have pots the easiest thing to do would be to have a chimney sweep install C-Cap venting cowls. These allow what remains of the chimney to breathe but don't allow water to run down inside or birds to nest inside.
