cold water pressure and bathroom conflict

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

Hi there I have 3 bathrooms in my house (1 main bath and 2 shower rooms). I have a vaillant ecotech plus 637 system boiler and a sanflow megaflow system. The boiler and megaflow are in my downstairs hallway. The cold water that comes out of all taps (excluding kitchen) is half ( if not just less than half) the pressure of the kitchen cold water. This causes problems such as when I am showering in my ensuite (on first floor) and someone flushes loo in main bathroom (also on first floor), I boil in my shower. Similarly if I am in shower and someone turns on a bathroom sink tap, I can feel the water pressure in my shower reduce. All pipes are 22mm pipes and all pipes to each bathroom sink, toilet and shower have non return valves fitted to them. Also, and I don't know if this is related, but there is a lack of power / force in the water when I have a shower. Initially, I thought the shower head was too large so I reduced it to an 8" one. However, although feels slightly better, the force element is still missing. Grateful for any advice on the above matters.

this may come down to pressure and volume of your incoming main, what size is your incoming main ?,is your hot and cold balanced at your cold water inlet group valve, the strainer in this valve could also need cleaning, this valve is set at 3 bar.non return valves can also reduce flow volume.
