Paint cracking on walls

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.15 PM

Hi there. Does anyone know why the paint on my bedroom wall is forming cracks and possibly could peel off. What is the best way to fix this? Could I sand it and then repaint? Thanks

Hy there,if your wall leads to an outside wall could forming cracks and the paint peel off.The best way to fix it is: If you have big crack you may need to open them and put some resin bond , fill and paint. But first all the peel paint need to be scraped off and sand ,then if needs fill to straight the wall, sand and paint after. Thanks

Hi. The paint itself is cracked and lifting? If so then it failed to adhere when the wall was painted. The most likely contaminant that would do this is old wallpaper paste residue. If the wall was previously papered and stripped, but not sugar soaped thoroughly to remove all paste residue, then these problems happen to the paint applied. I would scrape off what you can, size the wall with diluted pva (1 part pva 4-5 parts water. Then paper with 1200 grade lining paper then paint
