Some pipes coming out of radiator are effectively vibrating causing alot of noise
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.56 PM
Hello, i've recently had two radiators replaced, and valves put on my radiators downstairs I've noticed that when the heating is on, every now and then the pipe that comes out of the temperature valve is vibrating which causes a knocking noise

This sounds like it may well be a problem with the flow through the thermostatic radiator valve. Some TRVs are uni-directional and do not operate correctly if the flow through them is reversed. This can lead to knocking and vibrating, particularly when the rooms are getting up to temperature and the valves are beginning to close.

There's a possibility that you have air in the system which may be causing this. Or I have known in the past, other pipes which are out of site and not fixed ( under the floor boards) which are touching other pipes making it appear as though they are the pipes vibrating?
