Plastering Question

I have recently bought a new build but before i start to paint do i need to have cracks in the plaster mended?

most of these cracks are quite small just were the wall meets the ceiling. Is this a big job to get sorted?

Thanks for your help

Hi. As it is a new build you will have cracks appearing for about a year as the house is dring out. You can use chalk in the crack and then paint but they and other cracks my appear.

Hope this helps

Yes you do need to attend to the cracks, for wall cracks V the crack with a sharp triangular paint scraper then fill and sand, for where the ceiling meets the wall and in vertical corners use decorators caulk as this is flexible...

it sounds like you just have settlement cracks that will appear for about 18 months after the completion of the building ,this is not an issue to worry about as it is very normal in new builds just apply filler and decorators caulk and this will solve the problem
