Do I need a Megaflow system or can I use a good combi boiler?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.17 PM
Do I need a Megaflow system for wet underfloor heating? Having a new kitchen extension with underfloor heating and extra bathroom on the ground floor. Builder said I need one as the pipes are too narrow for pressure of water. May think about getting loft conversion done in the future but at the moment will be a bathroom and a wet room in a 3 bedroom house.

get a plumber /heating engineer to look at it for you,as to megaflow or combi boiler, you can use a combi, system, or vented boiler to supply your underfloor heating, megaflow for hot water, but combi or megaflow both systems need good mains pressure and volume to work well.

hi you don't have to have megaflow for wet underfloorI would reccomend having system boiler and mega flow if ur going to have a loft conversion in the future also a combi boiler won't give you good flow rate on hot water if using both bathrooms at once. If you are having shower mixer valves in both then I would look into going for new cylinder and boiler as you will also be adding radiators in the future
also check size of existing boiler
Thanks Alfie
