Single skin brick turned into a shower room
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.15 PM
We would like to turn a ground floor single skin brick extension into a shower room. It was previously part of a kitchen but I'm concerned about condensation. It has two external walls. I think my options are: - do nothing and just tile it - stud wall - insulation backed plasterboard Which option would be best on a budget (and wanting to preserve as much of the room size as possible)
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
I would suggest minimum stud at least.
If you tile it bare to these walls, you almost guaranteed to have condensation problem.

install insulated aqua board and tile on top, you are only losing 50 ml that way and make sure you have adequate ventilation.
